VECU is a small credit union in the San Luis Valley of Colorado that provides quality and personal service from a friendly and helpful staff. We provide many financial products and services with competitive rates on loan and deposit accounts.
The Valley Educators Credit Union is a federally insured, State Chartered Credit Union. In 1959, an Adams State University professor, Dr. Roland Wick, founded our credit union and operated it out of his university office. Our initial field of membership included all employees of the university plus educators and staff at the Alamosa school district. Over the years we have grown to a point that we now include all SLV school districts and have a permanent home on Main Street in Alamosa.
Valley Educators Credit Union has a volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee which works hard to ensure the safety and soundness of the credit union’s operation.
Our Mission Statement: The basic purpose of the Valley Educators Credit Union is to provide a safe, not-for-profit place for school employees and their family members to save money; and to lend that money to other members at fair-market rates.
